Premium Chess — Privacy Policy

This policy covers Premium Chess, the realistic 3D chess game published by Comp-sci-tech, on every device it runs on. The short version: your games and statistics stay on your device. The only time anything leaves it is when you choose to play online, and then only what a game of chess needs.

The short version

  • No account. No sign-up, no password, no email address. We do not know who you are.
  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking. No advertising, no crash reporting, no third-party SDKs that profile you.
  • Offline by default. Playing against the computer or a friend on the same device sends nothing anywhere.
  • Online play is anonymous. It uses a random code made on your device, the name you choose, and your moves. Nothing else.
  • No selling or sharing. We do not sell, rent or share anything about you with anyone.

Who we are

Premium Chess is built by Sadique Iqbal at Comp-sci-tech, an AI-first software engineering studio. If anything here is unclear, or you think it is wrong, email sadiqueiqbal.si@gmail.com.

What the game stores on your device

The following is saved in the game's own storage on your device, and nowhere else:

  • Your statistics — games won, lost and drawn, for online play, against the computer and on one device.
  • Your recent games — the moves and results of your last 50 finished games.
  • An unfinished game, so you can carry on where you left off.
  • Your settings — graphics, sound, animation and similar preferences.
  • Your display name and a random player code (see below).

The game does not read your contacts, photos, files, location, microphone or camera, and does not ask for permission to.

Playing online

Online play only starts when you open Play online. The game then connects to our game server and sends:

Player codeA random code created on your device the first time the game runs. It is not linked to your name, phone, email or any account; it lets the server recognise you if your connection drops mid-game.
Secret keyA second random code that proves the player code is yours. The server keeps only a one-way fingerprint (hash) of it, never the key itself.
Display name“Player-” plus four characters unless you change it in Profile. It is shown to your opponent. Please do not use your real name.
Your gamesThe time control you pick, your moves, draw offers, resignations and rematch requests — what the server needs to referee a fair game and keep both clocks.

There is no chat. Your opponent sees only your display name, your moves and your clock.

Like any internet connection, the server necessarily sees your device's IP address while you are connected. It is not stored with your games or used to identify you.

How long the server keeps it

  • Games and player codes are held in the server's memory only, never written to disk or a database. A finished game is removed five minutes after it ends, and everything in memory is gone whenever the server restarts.
  • Server logs note that a game started or ended, with a random game number, the time control and the result. They contain no names, no player codes and no moves. The server's system and web logs may contain technical errors, which can include an IP address; they are rotated automatically and are not used to identify or profile anyone.

Where the server is

The game server runs on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, which hosts it for us; Oracle does not use the game's data for its own purposes. All traffic between the game and the server is encrypted (secure WebSocket over HTTPS).

Deleting your data

To delete everything stored on your device, uninstall the game or clear its storage in your device's settings. This also deletes your player code, so the server will never connect a new game to your old one.

Because the server keeps nothing on disk, there is no stored copy of your data for us to look up, return or delete. If you have a question about this, email us anyway — we will answer.

Permissions

InternetOnly for online play. Everything else works without a connection.

No other permission is requested.

Children

Chess is for everyone, and the game has no chat and no way to share photos, contact details or location. The game does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Online play shares only the display name, so children should keep the automatic “Player-” name or choose a name that is not their real one.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or CCPA give you rights over your personal data, including access and deletion. Because the game keeps your data on your device and the server keeps none, you can exercise those rights directly by clearing or uninstalling the game; for anything else, email sadiqueiqbal.si@gmail.com.

Changes to this policy

If the game ever needs to collect more than this, we will update this page and the date below before the change ships. See also the Terms of Use.
