These terms cover your use of Premium Chess, the 3D chess game published by Comp-sci-tech, including its online play. By installing or playing the game you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.
Premium Chess is free. It has no advertising, no in-app purchases and no subscriptions. You may install it and play it for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment on any device you own or control.
Online play matches you with other people, so it only works if everyone plays fairly. When playing online, you agree not to:
We may end games, ignore results, or block a device from online play if we believe these rules have been broken. Because there are no accounts, any such block would apply to the anonymous player code and connection, not to your identity.
If your connection drops during an online game, you have 60 seconds to come back; the game is then restored exactly as it was. After that the game counts as abandoned and your opponent wins. Leaving an online game from the menu counts as resigning. Your clock keeps running while you are away.
Online play is provided free of charge and on a best-effort basis. It may be unavailable at times — for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control — and a game in progress may end if the server restarts. We may change, limit or stop online play at any time. Playing against the computer and on one device always works offline.
Your statistics, recent games and settings are stored only on your device (see the Privacy Policy). Uninstalling the game or clearing its storage deletes them permanently, and we cannot restore them.
The game, its software, design and the Premium Chess name, and the Comp-sci-tech name and CST logo, belong to Comp-sci-tech. You may not copy, modify, sell, rent or redistribute the game, or create derivative versions of it, except as the law allows.
The game includes artwork, sounds and music by other creators, used under their own licences (mostly CC0, public domain), and is built with the Godot Engine (MIT licence). Their names, sources and licence texts are listed in the game under Credits. Nothing in these terms limits the rights those licences give you.
Chess itself belongs to everyone: the rules, openings and games you play are yours.
The game is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that it will be error-free, that the computer opponent plays perfectly, or that online play will always be available.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Comp-sci-tech is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of the game, including lost games, lost statistics or interrupted online play. This does not limit any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.
If you downloaded the game from an app store such as Google Play or the Apple App Store, that store's own terms also apply to the download. The store is not responsible for the game itself; Comp-sci-tech is.
We may update these terms, for example when the game gains new features. The current version always lives on this page, with the date shown below. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
